Amazon is proposing a closed registry for .CLOUD. From the Amazon .cloud application:
“All domains in the .CLOUD registry will remain the property of Amazon. .CLOUD domains may not be delegated or assigned to third party organizations, institutions, or individuals.”
Meaning, no individuals, organizations or businesses will be able to register and use a .cloud name for their website if the Amazon proposal ultimately controls the .cloud registry. read the Amazon .cloud plan
