Estimated Launch Dates Speculation
Our TLD launch date estimations are entirely speculative. It is based on a perfect world scenario that is most definitely not going to happen. Prioritization numbers are merely a starting point, from where a tld applicant will begin the long road to delegation to the root zone. Each application has a unique set of circumstances they will need to negotiate.
Some are in contention sets. Some will have objections to deal with, from governments or other groups.
The gTLD Prioritization list is not an accurate representation of the order in which New gTLDs will roll out. Some TLDs will launch earlier than their prioritization number. Some will launch much later, or perhaps never.
For this purpose our definition of ‘Launch’ is the date the tld is placed into the root zone of the internet, making it a functioning top level domain. From there, each tld registry will embark on a launch sequence that will determine who can register domains and how.
Our Estimate Launch dates are speculative deduction (subject to change) based on following assumptions:
- The specific application and corresponding prioritization slot is the eventual registry operator.
- Root zone delegation begins in May 2013 following ICANN Beijing meeting.
- Delegation is performed at a rate of 20 per week as designated by ICANN
- No objections are made against the application
- and maybe others.
Our projections are made from the best current information.
We hope you find them useful
